Sabine and Lisa visit Portrait Photographer Kirsten White owner of Kirsten White Photography at her studio in Turnersville, New Jersey.

Kirsten's road to photography was an unconventional one. Her journey began in marketing and lead her to become a teacher for 15 years! While teaching she rediscovered an old passion for photography and started taking pictures of anything she could on the weekends. In 2016 she leaped and pursued her photography business full time. After years of experimenting with different genres of photography, she decided to focus on taking beautiful portraits of women. She says it best, "I like to capture joy!". 

In our conversation, she shares:

• The importance of exploring your interests to find your purpose.
• How going through a photoshoot herself allowed her to reconnect with her client's experience. 
• Why she choose to only capture women in photos.
• How she used her past experiences as "training wheels".
• How she had to differentiate friendship vs. business.
• Why you should not wait for people to do things with, or for you. Treat yourself!
